Wendy worked as a senior lecturer and dissertation mentor at Southampton Solent University for 27 years for a range of degree courses before co-founding InTandem Systems in 1997. As Commercial Director, Wendy has been responsible for business growth and has led the company to develop into a thriving BEMS specialist in the building services sector. Wendy’s passion is for training the next generation of Building Services Engineers something which has seen her spearhead the introduction of the BEMS Controls Engineer Apprenticeship for which she received the BCIA Outstanding Contribution of the Year Award in 2020. Wendy is also a T Level Ambassador and has, for many years been a training mentor for students undertaking placements at InTandem Systems, a role which culminated in being awarded the CIBSE Employer of the Year (small business and overall winner) in both 2017 and 2020. Wendy continues to Chair the BEMS Controls Engineer Apprenticeship Employer Group ensuring that the issue of skills remains at the top of the agenda for the building controls industry.

Peter is the Founder and Director of Group Horizon, a specialist training provider developing and delivering apprenticeship programmes nationally which includes the BEMS Controls Engineer Apprenticeship. Having started his career as an engineering apprentice at 16, Peter is a passionate advocate of apprenticeships and the critical role of integrated skills development in achieving Net Zero. Peter has a First Class Honours Degree in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, he completed the Cranfield University General Management Programme and has undertaken a Masters in Digital Analytics and Machine Learning at Newcastle University.

Nathan Davis is Head of Development at Pulse Fibre, where he leads on delivering future-proofed broadband infrastructure for new developments across the UK. With a 20-year military background in the Royal Signals and Adjutant General’s Corps, Nathan brings operational discipline and strategic clarity to the fast-moving world of fibre connectivity. His experience spans private equity, property development, and start-up growth, giving him a unique perspective on aligning technical delivery with commercial and developer needs. Nathan is a passionate advocate for smarter, faster, more connected communities.

Magnus Leask has 18+ years industry experience. Working for Hoare Lea since 2016 and now looking after the Digital Solutions department that features, ICT, Audiovisual, Smart Building Design, BMS & Consultancy. He is based in London.

Magnus has background in ICT Network Design, leading Chime Sports Marketing through numerous World Sporting events, including Commonwealth Games, Olympics & FIFA World Cups in the role of Head of ICT & Infrastructure, looking after 1500 full time event employees and up to 50,000 temporary staff on event.

His passion for the creation of Lean and Flexible Infrastructure across a range of Sectors including Science and Research, Workplace, Healthcare, Residential, Mission Critical, focuses upon the selection of the correct mix of products to ensure the sector requirements and end user requirements are met, whilst delivering a flexible cost-effective solution.

He is driving forward the future of Workplace, IT & Digital Infrastructure design, giving a consultants view to the future.

Luis is AI Product Manager for Data Strategy & Intelligence at Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart, healthy and sustainable buildings. He has over 20 years of experience spanning software engineering, data analytics, product management and AI. Currently, he drives the development of AI capabilities for Johnson Controls’ customer-facing digital offerings, from concept to product integration, launch and performance monitoring. He previously worked at Siemens where he led several key AI-driven initiatives to make buildings autonomous and energy-efficient. Luis holds a MSc in Management, Technology & Economics from ETH Zurich.

Alexandra's career spans infrastructure, delivery, and mergers & acquisitions, combining technical insights with strategic thinking to address challenges. Alexandra delivers change via actionable business outcomes, driving innovation while prioritising risk management and resilience. She is excited by the transformative potential of technology in Real Estate, exploring how digital advancements can enhance the physical environment. Alexandra remains true to her infrastructure roots with a commitment to organisational stability and security, ensuring that transformation aligns with these core values without compromise.

Chris Vintinner is a product leader with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of building automation, smart technologies, and digital transformation. As Product Line Manager at Distech Controls, he drives the roadmap and strategy for the company’s innovative building management software platform—helping facility owners and integrators deliver smarter, more efficient, and more secure buildings.

Chris’s career spans hands-on system design, technical leadership, and product strategy roles, with a consistent focus on open protocols, scalable architectures, and connected building ecosystems. He has worked closely with clients across commercial real estate, healthcare, and education sectors to deploy future-ready building systems that reduce energy usage, improve occupant comfort, and strengthen operational resilience.

He brings a practical lens to cybersecurity—applying high-level principles and best practices for protecting building systems in an increasingly connected world. His work emphasizes secure integration across OT and IT domains, including network segmentation, identity management, and standards-based communication protocols.

Chris holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University and continues to advocate for thoughtful, standards-driven innovation in the built environment.

Pook-Ping Yao is Chief Technology Officer at Optigo Networks, a leader in making smart buildings more efficient, responsive, and connected through innovative networking solutions. With deep expertise in networking and smart building systems, Ping is recognized internationally for his extensive knowledge of communication protocols, particularly BACnet, which is foundational in modern smart buildings. Nick is a Senior TPM at Google, where he focuses on networking and cyber security for IOT & OT technology. With over 11 years of experience at Google, Nick has a deep understanding of delivering and managing large scale networking programs.

At Google, Nick is responsible for cyber security programs for Real estate and workplace services (REWS). He is passionate about enabling teams to make them successful when implementing change, and has led global programs to implement large scale deployments of networking technology.

He is eager to share insights on how companies should think about the right way for them to build out their cyber security platforms.

Harri John is the Head of Digital Transformation at CBRE, where she helps clients navigate the complex world of real estate technology. She works with clients to identify the right solutions, shape their roadmaps, and implement sustainable change.

Ceri’s background stretches from industrial control systems development in the 1980’s, Command & Control systems in the 1990s, through to Systems Integration, Enterprise Architecture and consulting at the Business/Technology interface. He regularly focuses as much on organisational and process design as technology architecture to address multi-organisational challenges of technology integration and exploitation.

Working within Cisco’s Global Partner Organisation Sam leads the Intelligent Environments Practice for Cisco in EMEA. Sam has been involved in several ground-breaking Real Estate and Workplace projects ranging from 150 Holborn, 22 Bishopsgate and Canary Wharf. Sam advises real estate developers on innovation and automation within the built environment and enterprise tenants on their future workplace strategy. Sam is a passionate believer in combinatorial innovation leveraging the capabilities of multiple organisations and technologies in partnership. Sam has been at Cisco for 8 years, prior to this Sam was Group Commercial Director of a SaaS scale-up, spent nine years in technology sector investment banking and six years in the military.

Ryan is a Senior Technical Solution Engineer at Cisco and is currently based in Dallas, TX. Ryan leads intelligent building design, data strategy and digital transformation for Cisco. Previously, he lead architecture system design and implementation for Schneider Electric in North America. Ryan is a member of The Bacnet Advisory Board for ASHRAE as well as several committee and working group standards. He has a B.S in Mathematics from Rutgers University and an MBA from Westerns Governors University. Certifications: CESAM Architect, CEM, CCNP, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, Smartscore and Wiredscore AP RCDD.

Gabriela Białkowska is a researcher and writer exploring how emerging technologies are redefining workplaces. At WORKTECH Academy, she focuses on intelligent environments, data-driven design and the evolving relationship between people and technology.

Daniel has over 16 years of experience within the IT/AV and digital technology sector. He has excellent knowledge of emerging technologies and trends as well as valuing technology which is designed to make a difference with purpose. Dan continues to contribute to the development and now operations of technologies such as IOT, IWMS, building data platforms, mobile applications, and IT/AV systems and networks.

Notably, he has played a significant role in the design, installation, coordination, and operation of the IT/AV and digital technologies within Sidara’s new HQ building in London at 150 Holborn.

Having started work as a process engineering apprentice in the construction industry in 1988, Gary brings with him a wealth of unrivalled experience. In fact, his 37+ years in the built environment has seen Gary work on a wide range of interesting projects, from assisting with the refurbishment of the MARS® factory in Slough to producing working drawings for the refurbishment of the HMS Pembroke in Chatham. More recently, he played a major role in some of the UK’s largest regeneration schemes, such as Woolwich Arsenal, Barking Riverside, and West Hendon, working closely with UK Power Networks, Thames Water and many other major authorities. Now overseeing Whitecode Consulting’s Utilities department, Gary works alongside the company’s design engineers to review any incoming service drawings and requirements while liaising with multiple utility providers to obtain competitive quotations for Whitecode Consulting’s clients and complete applications quickly and efficiently.

Guy Collins-Down is one of the UK’s foremost experts in school design and operational management, with a career spanning prestigious and ambitious schools including Harrow, Alleyn’s and South Hampstead High School. Throughout his career, his passion and vision for education environments has seen the design of over £1bn of new school buildings; the development of strategic national and international commercial partnerships; and the pioneering of community use and enjoyment of school buildings. A co-founder of the School’s Enterprise Association, former education consultant at Bryanston Square Consulting and a noted writer on classroom design, Mr Collins-Down is a popular and influential voice on school environments, IT strategy and sustainability.

Rachel has 20 years’ experience in the multi-national construction and facilities management industry. With a focus on driving greater efficiency, safety, sustainability, and visibility of supply chains across physical and digital channels, Rachel’s leadership and extensive industry knowledge is instrumental to helping GS1 UK members transform the construction industry.

Ramesh brings his expertise in Digital Transformation and outsourcing to Cevitr, a company that specialises in automation and AI -  backed by over two decades of experience in technology businesses. According to him, “disruptive innovation is accelerated when breakthrough technology is accessible to everyone,” and he is passionate about working with businesses to simplify their automation journeys.

Before embarking on his entrepreneurial venture, Ramesh worked in various leadership capacities in Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services and Harman International (A Samsung Company) having organically grown business portfolios that he was responsible for. Ramesh has a track record of driving strategic transformation deals across the UK, Europe and the Asia Pacific. Peter is an experienced business leader with a deep passion for leveraging digitalization to drive sustainability. With a strong foundation in Telecoms, Peter has transitioned from leading his own consultancy to focusing on the transformative benefits of IoT deployments. He is dedicated to exploring how technology can create sustainable solutions and deliver tangible advantages across industries. He currently works for TEKTELIC as the UK Business Development and Sales Director and represents the LoRa Alliance as a LoRaWAN Ambassador.

He has engaged with key stakeholders including distributors, solution providers, and hardware manufacturers, and has been instrumental in driving innovation and growth in the technology sector.

Pete has also co-hosted an IoT podcast, where he interviewed global IoT leaders and industry experts. In addition to his industry work, he delivers guest lectures at universities on careers in technology and IoT, and mentors students through the Hallam Collective at Sheffield Hallam University.

Alastair Tucker-Brown is a Smart Buildings Specialist at Cisco, bringing over two decades of expertise in Enterprise Data Networking. He has worked at senior levels with national and global organizations, helping them leverage the latest technology to achieve business transformation and drive true outcomes. Known for his ability to understand core business objectives, Alastair develops strategies that translate technological advancements into tangible outcomes. Beyond his professional achievements, he is also an accomplished athlete, having represented Team GB in European and World Duathlon Championships in 2025

Jeremy leads the Future Proof Workplace for Real Estate Go-to-Market team and is accountable for translating how Cisco approaches Smart and Sustainable Buildings for our customers own properties. Prior to his role, he led the global GTM strategy for Smart Buildings worldwide. Beyond Smart Buildings, he has extensive experience in Innovation, Leadership, and Consulting across multiple industries, including Consumer Package Goods, Aerospace, Retail, Financial, Medical Device and Manufacturing. He has 26+ years of advisory consulting to executives, defining vision and roadmaps with pragmatic approaches to execution.

Prior to this role, Jeremy worked at Daugherty Business Solutions, where he successfully delivered mission critical solutions to companies across the U.S. in the areas of Business Transformation, Customer Experience, Workforce Optimization, Mobile Applications, and Custom Software Development/Integration.

Jeremy has worked directly with customers to transform numerous aspects of their business. He has partnered with numerous the lines of business and the customers finance organizations to create roadmaps with actionable TCO’s and ROI’s that are based on actual data and achievable results, signed off by their very own finance teams.

A father of 4 children, Jeremy is lives near Miami with his wife Georgia and their 2 dogs and 2 cats. Outside of work, he enjoys restoring anything he can get his hands one, including cars, trucks, boats and many other “un-deserving” projects according to his wife.

Jeremy holds degrees in Materials and Science Engineering and a MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the University of Minnesota.

Gregor Hoefter is the CEO and founder of GridDuck, the intelligent energy management system for commercial buildings. Bringing previous experience in telecommunications and banking, Gregor launched GridDuck in 2015 to solve the extensive problem of energy waste in British businesses.
