Turning Data into Action: Making One of London’s Smartest Buildings Smarter
Smart buildings generate valuable data, but how often does it lead to better performance? Envelo and AllioT share the story of 3 Pancras Square, home to Havas UK, where an already efficient building achieved a further 31% reduction in ventilation energy use alongside improved indoor air quality.
This session explores how the project began, the challenges encountered and the changes that delivered results. From selecting relevant sensors to resolving control conflicts and independently validating savings, it offers practical lessons for building owners, facilities managers and operators seeking to make more of their existing buildings

Steve Burch is Co-founder of Envelo, a UK PropTech company that helps buildings save energy and improve indoor conditions. He trained as a chemical engineer and spent 20 years as a consultant at KPMG, learning how systems work and how organisations do. What has stayed with him is a pull towards the new: finding a way through a problem, learning from it and turning that learning into something that keeps working, repeats and scales. Envelo is where that has become a founder’s work, where he has learned as much from what didn’t work as what did. His focus is on applying intelligence to building data, turning it into real, measurable benefit.
