Unlocking Operational Data: From Data Silos to Digital Twin Intelligence
IES Live is more than a building dashboard. It is an operational data layer connected to a calibrated IESVE building performance model, combining real operational data with physics-based modelling to support verification, optimisation and continuous performance improvement.
Buildings generate large volumes of operational data, yet much remains trapped within separate BMS, metering, renewable energy, and third-party systems. Drawing on hands-on experience, this session explores how to bring data from fragmented sources into a single connected environment and the challenges of making that data reliable, structured, and useful enough to act on.
With clean, connected data, IES Live supports fault detection, energy performance analysis, and commissioning verification. The deeper value comes from integration with IESVE: operational data combines with the building performance model to identify, test, and quantify Energy Conservation Measures before any money is spent on implementation.
IES Live closes the loop by tracking actual building performance against the modelled prediction. This allows teams to verify whether measures delivered the expected savings and understand any performance gap. The result is a continuous improvement cycle: model the opportunity, implement the measure, monitor the outcome, verify the result, and feed those lessons back into the next decision.
