KEYNOTE: Run Before You Fly: Where AI Actually Earns Its Place in Building Optimisation
AI has changed how building optimisation is done. Opportunities that once took weeks of manual trend analysis can now be found, scoped and quantified by AI, continuously, across a whole portfolio.
But AI is only as good as the data model underneath it, and very few vendors publish how often their analytics get it wrong. This session looks at where building AI earns its place, why one mislabelled point can flow through to every result after it, and why a polished interface proves nothing without validated results at scale.
Using real examples, it shows how autonomy is earned one task at a time, with people verifying before anything changes in the building. It also covers how AI helps prioritise improvements and build roadmaps for performance ratings including NABERS UK, and gives owners three questions to ask any AI vendor.
Attendees will learn
- Where AI is already changing building optimisation, and what it still can't do on its own
- Why the data model decides whether AI output can be trusted
- What earned autonomy looks like, from AI suggests to fully automated
- How AI helps prioritise improvements and build roadmaps for ratings such as NABERS UK
- Three questions to ask any AI vendor about accuracy, data quality and verification
