The author of the recent BSRIA guide 'BG 91 Procuring Smart Building Technology' will give practical guidance on the system and process changes needed to optimise building operations, reducing energy and maintenance costs, and enhancing sustainability and occupant experience. The guide provides independent advice developed with the support of manufacturers, suppliers, installers, and clients of smart building technology.

John Taylor is a Publications Manager at BSRIA, the independent industry organisation promoting knowledge and providing specialist services for construction and building services stakeholders. He has over 20 years’ experience in the built environment, covering building services design, energy management, carbon management, retrofit and building optimisation. At BSRIA he is using his experience implementing smart building technology to author guides on building control and optimisation, while also working with experts from across the built environment to develop the wide range of BSRIA publications.
