KEYNOTE: The Building Operating System: Why Data Will Define the Next 10 Years of Smart Buildings
Over the next decade, data will become the foundation of every smart building. As AI, decarbonisation and new regulations reshape the industry, success will depend on how effectively buildings collect, share and act on information across all systems.
This presentation explores why open, interoperable platforms are becoming essential for turning building data into better energy performance, lower operating costs and smarter decision-making. It highlights how the next generation of buildings will move beyond automation toward continuous optimisation, using data as the key enabler.
Key Takeaways:
1. Open platforms create future-ready buildings.
2. Interoperability beats vendor lock-in.
3. Data is the foundation of the smart building.
4. The value is not in the devices. It's in the data.
5. AI starts with open, accessible data.
6. Better data drives better energy performance.
7. Buildings must evolve from reactive to predictive.
8. The next decade belongs to buildings that learn, adapt and improve.
