KEYNOTE: Three Estates, Three Journeys: What It Actually Takes to Turn Analytics Into Outcomes
Analytics case studies usually start at the happy ending, the savings number, the fault count, the tidy ROI. This session goes back to the beginning.
We'll walk through three real deployments that reached strong outcomes by entirely different routes: a life sciences estate, where compliance, validated environments and uptime set the terms before energy ever entered the conversation; a service partner transformation, where the hard part wasn't the technology but rebuilding how engineers work, how contracts are priced, and how planned maintenance is justified; and a university campus, where a small in-house team covering a sprawling mixed estate — labs, lecture theatres, residences, decades of inherited plant — had to decide what to fix first against a net zero target and a finite capital budget.
For each, we'll cover what the client was trying to fix, what the data actually revealed, where the deployment stalled, what changed operationally, and the outcomes delivered — in cost, comfort, carbon and engineering time. The through-line: the technology is rarely the constraint. What separates the estates that get value from the ones that don't is data readiness, ownership of the actions, and whether anyone's job actually changed.
