CBRE Investment Management
Laura leads a team of asset managers, based in the London office, with c £2bn of office assets to manage across the UK, on behalf of international clients. She was appointed Client Experience Lead for EMEA offices in 2022. Defining the role as the first incumbent, Laura is building and developing a team to deliver excellent service to both clients and occupiers.
With 18 years’ experience, of which 16 years have been with CBRE IM, Laura has held a number of investment management and leadership roles within the business.
Laura is passionate about cities, having lived in New York and now London, and developing places within them for people to thrive. She has led repositioning projects such as Angel Central (a retail destination in Islington), 10 Brindley Place (the largest office refurbishment in Birmingham to complete in 2022) and Atlantic House (a City of London office refurbishment). Wellbeing, creativity, technology, adaptability and long term sustainability are at the heart of her projects.
As a mother of two young children, Laura has always been a strong advocate of diversity, equity and inclusion and has led a wellbeing and mental health working group at CBRE IM, which is all part of a wider initiative to provide a more inclusive environment for the team to work, learn and grow.
Eric Woods is a research director leading Guidehouse Insights’ smart cities and urban innovation services. In this role, he brings together his experience across the energy, mobility, buildings, and government technology sectors. As well as authoring a series of ground-breaking research reports on smart cities, Dr. Woods has led several major smart city consultancy projects.
He has almost 30 years of experience as an analyst and consultant on new technology trends including in-depth research in the areas of IT infrastructure, data analytics, knowledge management, public sector IT, and cleantech innovation. He is frequent speaker at industry conferences and is quoted regularly in major publications. He has worked on consultancy assignments to a wide range of clients, including public and private sector technology users, utilities, and global IT players, as well as many small and growing technology companies.
Robert leads IBM’s UK Digital Real Estate and Sustainability practice and has over 20 years experience helping Public Sector clients to optimise the way they manage the interface between their Physical Environment (buildings and assets) and their Digital Environments (the systems that support them).
Robert has advised and led a range of major worjplace programme for clients including the MOD, HMRC, the Home Office and the NHS. He is a leading proponent of applying user-centric design to support clients reinvent the way they apply smarter technologies to improve efficiency, experience, business outcomes and more sustainable ways of working.
Andres Guzman joined Tishman Speyer in 2022 as Head of ESG for Tishman Speyer’s European business. Andres oversees the integration and delivery of the firm’s European ESG strategy to ensure performance and manage associated risks, aligning with global goals. Andres has over 13 years of experience in driving responsible growth having previously focused on providing functional leadership to property consultancies. Most recently, he was Head of Sustainability for Colliers, embedding ESG into property investment strategies, chairing various ESG committees, and managing compliance with EU carbon legislation.
He is passionate about driving sustainability in real estate and has a proven track record of positive internal and external engagement to meet ambitious targets. Andres is a regular presenter on sustainability topics, has contributed to policy consultations on energy legislation, and participated in the World Green Building Council’s Better Places for People campaign.
Chess Wise Limited
Ashley spent 26 years working in the Defence Sector before to entering the commercial world of lighting. Realising the wider opportunity for connected lighting and how a wireless data backbone would enable valuable data insights, Ashley co-founded Chess and began introducing Mymesh to lighting OEMs and end users.
Over the last four years, Ashley has supported clients across both private and public sector to develop their smart building journey, realising a range of smart building programmes across verticals including healthcare, industry, office, education, and transportation.
He continues to be an advocate in seeking ways to develop sensor eco-systems that leverage the Mymesh backbone that will, through data acquisition, improve building insights and enable integration and interoperability with existing building services.

The UK Launchpad
Sandeep setup the fast growing UK Launchpad in 2018 to support and guide tech companies with market entry into the UK market. As part of this he works with a large number of smart city solutions. He also Chairs on Smart Cities for Tech London Advocates and as part of this is very well connected to the Smart City ecosystem. As part of his roles he regularly organises and participates in a number of smart city events and talks.
Prior to this, Sandeep Arora spent 20 years as a senior executive across a number of investment banks such as JP Morgan and UBS, providing leadership in the areas of Risk Management, Policy and Compliance.
