JIB/ECS
Dan joined the JIB and ECS team in March 2025, bringing with him 25 years of experience in the building services engineering industry. His extensive background includes technical management, qualification development, and quality assurance.
In his previous role as Technical Manager, Dan led the management of the Fire, Emergency, and Security Systems (FESS) end-point assessments and oversaw the development and quality assurance of qualifications for approved training providers. He played a pivotal role in the creation and successful implementation of the BPEC FESS Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) with Andy Reakes and the ECS Fire & Security Industry Group. Dan managed the trial of the UK’s first Fire and Security pathway EWA and has helped a number of training providers get set up to deliver this essential certification which leads to an ECS gold card and has helped raise competency standards in the FESS sector.
Dan has extensive industry knowledge with a deep understanding of assessment processes, training standards and quality assurance across multiple sectors.
In working with the JIB and ECS, Dan aims to strengthen relationships with key industry stakeholders, enhance the ECS brand and use of ECS systems, and champion strategic initiatives to support workforce development.
