The Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) is the only UK Trade Association solely representing the Building Automation and Controls and BEMS sector.
Our 180+ corporate members represent an industry worth in excess of £840m pa and include manufacturers, systems installers and integrators, distributors and specialist industry consultants. Our reach includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The BCIA aims to promote better understanding, application and use of building controls within the UK, recognising their part in decarbonising the built environment. Building Automation and Controls deliver the optimum conditions for a building to perform to its potential - driving energy efficiencies, lowering operational costs and improving the environment for building users. BCIA members typically operate within the non-domestic sector, including offices, education, healthcare, defence, industrial, retail, agriculture and pharmaceutical buildings.
It has a number of key functions that support its members and the wider industry which include policy influence and advocacy; running campaigns to support awareness as well as talent attraction and retention; and through offering specialist training courses.
The Association is also committed to promoting higher standards in the industry through industry specific training and the development of the BEMS Controls Engineer Apprenticeship Standard.
