Keynote: Using Building Automation to improve Indoor Air Quality
In the developed world, we spend up to 90% of our time indoors. If we learned anything from COVID-19, it was that the air we breathe in our indoor environments is often contaminated with pathogens and particulate matter that make us ill.
Even if employees, patients, students, guests, customers are not falling ill, their comfort and efficacy can be severely impacted by the quality of the air they're breathing.
Reliable Controls seeks to integrate Indoor Air Quality management into the building automation solutions it provides. By monitoring multiple factors - not just temperature and humidity - and automating equipment responses, it's possible to significantly improve air quality and in so doing, reduce occupant exposure to harmful pathogens, improve operational efficiency and impact the triple bottom line: people, plant and profit.

Brian English graduated in electronic engineering from Trinity College Dublin in 1986 and later achieved the Diploma in Marketing of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. In 1992, ater working for some years in Co. Cork, he moved to the Netherlands as European Distribution Sales Manager for Artesyn Technologies and subsequently spent five years as European VP Sales & Marketing for a division of Emerson Electric from St. Louis, Missouri.
In 2000 he joined the XP Power group as Managing Director of XP Power Ltd. where he was responsible for the establishment of the group’s sales infrastructure
throughout continental Europe. In 2003 he set up Qupact International and launched a program to guide companies through the complex task of setting up and managing third party sales channels in international markets.
Reliable Controls brought him back to his roots in 2016, when he joined the Canadian company and took on responsibility for developing its dealer network throughout EMEA.
