Stacey’s career at Sontay started in 2001 when she joined the company as a Customer Service Advisor in an industry that she had no idea existed! Since then she has caught the ‘Building Controls Bug’ and is ever more excited about the new technologies embraced by the industry and the future that lies ahead. By working her way up through Customer Service and Sales, she has built long lasting relationships with many of their customers and she is able to use the knowledge and insight learned in these years to effectively market the excellent Sontay range. It has also given her a fantastic knowledge base and high level of technical understanding of the Sontay product range and how it fits within the industry.
As is the case with most in the building technology industry, Ciarans journey to designing Smart Buildings was somewhat unconventional.
A Building Services Engineer by qualification, his first exposure to Smart Buildings was when he joined a BMS manufacturer which subsequently sparked his interest in building technology. Spending nearly ten years as a BMS engineer working on projects worldwide, gave him a broad understanding of the technologies involved in Smart Buildings and how they were implemented in the 'real world'.
He brings this real world experience into the design of Smart Buildings where he now leads the Building Intelligence team at Hoare Lea delivering better buildings for people and planet.
Matthew Marson is an experienced leader, working at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and the built environment. Having founded WSP’s Smart Places practice and grown Accenture’s offering in this field, Matthew led a €100m business across a range of asset types and geographies.
Marson was named as the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Young Engineer of the Year 2022 and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Young Visionary 2016 for his contributions to the global Smart Buildings industry.
As a recognised thought leader, Matthew is a keynote speaker at international industry events related to emerging technology and places at the building and city scales. He is the author of the Smart Building Advantage, a seminal book that explores the return on investment for technology in the built environment.
Neil Fright FIWFM, CEO of Carbon Numbers, is an award-winning energy efficiency leader with over 20 years’ experience in consulting UK organisations on low carbon solutions, energy performance measures, and Net Zero planning.
