Meeting the demands of the modern ‘prosumer’ is a team sport. And get ready…the global smart home technology market is set to double in the next four years.
The functionality for residents to manage everything from home security to electric vehicle (EV) charging and white goods already exists. But the leaders in this market are the ones making the tech EASY to use. That means being able to connect all smart systems and third-party devices - and control them in a single user interface – regardless of their brand.
Underpinning this ‘shift to smart’ is open technology, collaboration between some of the world’s biggest vendor brands, and innovation. This session explores how open and agnostic solutions are allowing organisations like ABB and Samsung to connect whole buildings and control two-way data. Our industry needs solutions that allow different devices and services to integrate flawlessly, intuitively, and securely. We’ll show that in action at our jointly developed smart communities, for example in Sweden.
Following ABB’s recent acquisition of Eve Systems, we’ll detail the importance of a standards-based approach. And we’ll show how artificial intelligence (AI) is reducing complexity and the burden of technical support among installers - while improving the end user experience.
