Over the past 18months a consortium of architects, designers, consultants and technology providers have come together to discuss the implementation of Smart Buildings and how they align with the RIBA Plan of Work.
This session provides some background on this process as well as an introduction to the forthcoming overlay providing details of its content and the all important release date.
This session should be attended by anyone involved in the construction, management or retrofit of buildings as technology in the built environment has never moved as fast as it does today, nor will it ever move this slow again.
We will have attendance form the contributing members at this session to help with Q&A
As is the case with most in the building technology industry, Ciarans journey to designing Smart Buildings was somewhat unconventional.
A Building Services Engineer by qualification, his first exposure to Smart Buildings was when he joined a BMS manufacturer which subsequently sparked his interest in building technology. Spending nearly ten years as a BMS engineer working on projects worldwide, gave him a broad understanding of the technologies involved in Smart Buildings and how they were implemented in the 'real world'.
He brings this real world experience into the design of Smart Buildings where he now leads the Building Intelligence team at Hoare Lea delivering better buildings for people and planet.
