The market is finally changing after nearly 40 years of stagnation. The construction industry is one of the last industries to adopt the technologies available today
However, the market is now seeing billions of dollars being invested in start-ups and services.
Systems are moving from On-Prem to the Cloud and removing siloed systems, due to connectivity Technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Analytics, VR, Digital Twins, etc. are spread across the whole structure not just in Cloud Services, they are present is Sensors, Edge Devices, Integration products and Networking.
The pandemic has accelerated the adoption of these technologies and added new demands such as Space Optimisation, IAQ and Wellness. It brings with it a more segmented system solution structure too with the introduction of MSI's and Cloud Service Providers, adding to the already enormous SI market.
The customer is becoming smarter, leases becoming shorter plus hybrid working will necessitate a change in the design of the work environment driving the retrofit/ refurbishment market with the need for more Sustainable, Secure and Healthy buildings.Show all sessions

Formerly VP & MD Tridium EMEA and globally responsible for global BAS strategy. Tridium are the global leader in open platforms, connecting diverse edge devices and systems to enterprise applications and cloud services.
Prior to working at Tridium Roger worked with Johnson Controls where he was responsible for their European Products division and previous to that he was globally responsible for York International’s Building Controls Group based in various locations, including the US and Europe.
Now working as an independent Consultant focusing on Business Change and Strategy. Helping start-ups and larger companies with the new approach required by IoT technology and changing customer demands.
