Creating Intelligent Homes

Thursday 19th October 10:00 - 10:45

Residential Developers Theatre

The professional Smart Home market is all too often seen as being for just high value properties and costing a lot of money. Also you need specialised training and that they are complex to install, however nothing can be further from the truth. With Eltako wireless solutions, which uses the Open Protocol EnOcean in all its wireless devices, existing and new build homes can be made as intelligent as you wish.
This can be lighting, heating, blinds, widows, doors, etc. all beautifully integrated
I am passionate about the development of intelligent technology to enable properties to be made more affordable, energy efficient and comfortable. There is a need to demystify the whole subject and make it available to all professional installers, only then will we increase the amount of UK buildings having good quality modern controls that work. So from a one bed apartments to multi bedroom homes, for the young to the elderly, to the able bodied to those needing assisted living. The technology can be made to fit their needs and requirements today and on into the future.

Eltako GmbH

I have many years of experience in the Smart Home and Building markets working with various Open Protocol solutions. Starting work as a Technical Apprentice at GEC Telecommunications in Coventry (sadly now long gone), then spending a number of years at ABB Controls in Coventry. I then moved into Sales, with companies like Klockner Moeller, MEM, Timeguard/Theben and B.E.G. I was involved with KNX in its infancy (when it was still EIB) and at one time being the Vice-President of the UK KNX Association. Latterly I spent time working with DALI/DALI2.

For the last three years I have been building up the presence of Etako GmbH in the UK and their extensive range of EnOcean enabled professional wireless devices for the control of homes and other buildings. Very happily married with two grown up children and a Pug. Among other things enjoying walks near his home in the New Forest.
